Ask or petition, (aiteō)is a fundamental principle of prayer: we present a request to a higher authority with purpose and expectation.
A petition is synonymous with a request or an appeal.
Making a prayer petition has legal implications, while asking is more of an informal request. This distinction supports the idea that a petition is a formal appeal to authority.
In Greek, to ask Aiteo means to make a plea to an authority based on an inherent right.
The Bible uses both words depending on the scripture, but in this context, they have the same meaning.
A petition is a request to do something that is submitted before a court or authority.
It is more than just asking a friend for something.
To petition the court or the King is to request specific legal action.
A petition is a request for recompense, relief, or intervention from a higher authority, which is why it functions as a prayerful appeal.
And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. John 14:13
If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. John 15:7
A petition may require a witness who speaks on your behalf or agrees with what you are saying. The witness gives more credibility to your case.
The prayer of agreement is a witness of two or more to a petition.
Again, I tell you truly that if two of you on the earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven. Matthew 18:19
Also, when approaching the court with a petition, it is important to cite a precedent case.
Precedent is a judicial decision that serves as an authority for courts when deciding identical or similar cases.
Bringing God’s word into a prayer of petition lends it more credence. God honors his word.
For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.

Satan knows this principle, which is why he uses scripture against his opponents.
And he says to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it has been written: ‘He will command His angels concerning You, and on hands they will lift You up, lest ever You might strike Your foot against a stone.’” Matthew 4:6

Having faith or assurance that our petitions are heard, if they are based on God’s word, is a guarantee that our prayers will be answered.
Faith comes by knowing God’s word in a situation and knowing that we have the inherent right to ask and expect an answer to our request.
To have our requests heard by the court of God, we must make sure we always have his mercy. As in the case of Queen Esther, who approached the king’s throne and was received with the royal scepter of mercy.
And the king said to Esther at the feast of the wine, “What is your petition? And it shall be given to you. And what is your request? As much as half of the kingdom, and it shall be done.” Esther 5: 6
A principle I would like to point out is that it is important to ask or petition God to intervene in our situation. Unless we make a request to the throne of God, we may struggle with a problem for years.
Remember that Jesus asked a blind man what he wanted.

Another principle for answered prayer is to know you have representation in your case.
A representative is a person who is authorized to act and speak on behalf of another.
We have been given, as an inheritance, the right to use the name of Jesus Christ, the highest authority in heaven, on earth, and under the earth.
The name of Jesus the Messiah gives the petitioner the right to petition the throne of God. Pending all sin is forgiven and mercy granted to the individual.
And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. John 14:13
Another spiritual principle for petitions to be granted by the King is fulfilling the prerequisite.
Some teach that Yehovah reacts in the same way as the pagan gods. In other words, by his whim.
This false teaching has caused many believers to live unnecessarily in bondage to sickness, poverty, lack, and defeat.
I was one of those people for many years, until I began to take God at his word. I lived defeated, sick, and depressed. The doctrines of men that exalt themselves against scripture are deadly. To have victory in our lives, we must break free from those false doctrines and trust God’s word above everyone else’s.
Yehova answers prayers based on spiritual principles, not whims. The “if it be your will” prayer cannot be applied out of context.
Jesus knew God’s will. That is why he came to this earth. To submit to God’s will in front of his disciples was a teaching method. Submission, even when it’s a hard path, always results in victory in the end.
Jesus’ resurrection proved that.
Asking according to God’s will is an invitation to seek out what that will is and how to enter into agreement with God’s will.
God does not hand things to his people on a silver platter. He expects us to seek, ask, and knock. Salvation is a free gift, but you must receive it for it to be yours. It is the same with any other promise in the Bible.
So I say to you: Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. Luke 11:19
Prerequisites for answered prayers are as set out in scripture.
Forgive others.
And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. Mark 11:25
Confess and forsake sin.
But your iniquities have built barriers between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He does not hear. Isaiah 59:2

Whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance, he had passed over former sins. Romans 3:5
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:7
To proceed with a case in court, a petitioner must satisfy the mandatory requirements. Such as having all the facts and fulfilling proper procedures.

For finances.
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. Luke 6:38
Provison
Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33
Be content and thankful.
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Collosions 3:17
Godly living.
“And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:8
