Spiritual laws work much like natural laws. They have a cause and an effect.
In other words if said thing is initiated then said thing will occur. For example, if the right environment is cultivated a garden will grow. If you plant the seeds and continue to apply specific conditions then you will reap a harvest.
Again, if you modify your portions, eat healthy and exercise, you will loose weight. If you surrender your life to Jesus Christ and receive his salvation you can be forgiven and inherit eternal life.
Scriptures give us conditions to inherit the promises of God. After we have fulfilled the conditions such as ‘give to receive’ or ‘seek to find’, then according to the Bible, the spiritual principle to apply is to ‘wait on the Lord’.
It is important to note that the Bible reveals to us that in order to receive from the Lord we must sow or invest some kind of effort. Faith without works is dead being alone.
The good news, however, is that we do not have to do this work alone. Even works are initiated and empowered by the Lord.
What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.“ James 2:14-26
I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:12,13
You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 2:1
But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. James 4:6-7
Strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously. Collosions 1:11
That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man. Ephesians 3:16
Waiting on the Lord is a crucial part of getting our prayer requests granted.
Scriptures tell us not to throw away our confidence because in due time we will reap a harvest if we don’t give up. (Hebrews 10:35)
It is by faith and patience we inherit the promises of God. (Hebrews 6:12)
In other words, we need to be waiting in confidence and patience with continual endurance for something we expectantly hope for. (Hebrews 11:1)
The Hebrew word for wait is qâvâh.
This means to expect, to look patiently.
The Greek word is perimenō.
It means to tarry, to wait upon.
To ‘wait upon’ is not a passive, static waiting.
The ‘wait upon’ term in the scriptural context means to be hopeful and expectant.
To hang on to for strength like clinging to a rope.
God’s promises in scriptures are a part of our inheritance in Jesus Christ. God’s word is our sheild, our hope and our very life essentials.
I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning. Psalm 130:5-6
As we wait on the Lord and seek his face in prayer, we can expect an answer to come.
If we trust in the Lord, clinging to his promises, we are assured of a breakthrough.
All God’s promises are ‘yes and amen’. (2 Corinthians 1:20)
Guaranteed as an inheritance to those who belong to him.
Waiting requires pateince. There is often a time factor involved.
But he who has promised is faithful! (2 Corinthians 1:20)
Waiting requires not giving up. Many victories have been aborted by giving up.
Scriptures tell us that after we have done all that there is to be done, we STAND! (Ephesians 6:12-18)
That means we cling on to that rope!(the word of God)
We never let go no matter how hard the wind blows.
Miracles occur when we wait, trust, hope, stand in faith!
Our God is able. He is more than able!
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21
Wait, I say, on the Lord!
But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31
The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. Lamentations 3:25
Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him. Isaiah 30:18
Our soul waits for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name. Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in you. Psalm 33:20-22
Wait for the Lord and keep his way, and he will exalt you to inherit the land; you will look on when the wicked are cut off. Psalm 37:34
For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him. Psalm 62:5
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! Psalm 37:7
From of old no one has heard or perceived by the ear, no eye has seen a God besides you, who acts for those who wait for him. Isaiah 64:4
I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope. Psalm 130:5
Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! Psalm 27:14
But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. Romans 8:25
But we who live by the Spirit eagerly wait to receive by faith the righteousness God has promised to us. Galatians 5:5
